What is EEG?
EEG, or electroencephalography, is a technique to record the electrical activity of the brain. Brain cells called neurons generate ionic currents, causing voltage fluctuations, which are measured by EEG. BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) is a system that translates the brain activity patterns of the user into messages or commands for an interactive application.

What are we doing?

Through non-invasive EEG and BCI, we have created an interface between the human brain and a computer! We

Acquire the raw EEG signal from the forehead,
Process the raw data to remove noise and enhance relevant signals
Through Algorithm, we calculate the ‘Power Spectral Density’ ratio to classify and assign the set of features extracted from the signals
The processed signals are output as digital messages for the computer and/or interactive application

Filter raw signals into different frequency bands which are associated with different states of mind, such as:

Delta waves (1-3 Hz): Deep meditation and sleep
Theta waves (4-7 Hz): Normal meditation and sleep
Alpha waves (8-12 Hz): Relaxation
Beta waves (13-30 Hz): Active thinking, focus, high alert, anxiety
